Kasargod: Gas leakage in Dubai kills youth from Kanhangad

Kasargod, Oct 1: In a tragic incident reported in Dubai, a youngster from Kanhangad here died of asphyxiation due to gas leakage.

The deceased is identified as P V Prajith (20), son of Premanand and Mulla, residents of Hosadurg, Kadappura.

The mishap occurred in Prajith's residence in Deira, Dubai. 

Prajith was employed in a private company and had gone to work on Sunday, September 27 as usual. The gas cylinder started leaking after he came back from work and slept on Monday morning. The gas caught fire and the room was filled with smoke, suffocating Prajith to death, sources said.

Prajith was alone in the room at the time of the mishap.  Locals who saw smoke and fire emerging from the room informed the officials concerned. The police who arrived at the spot extinguished the fire and took Prajith to hospital but he failed to respond to the treatment.

Prajith had studied till plus two and had gone to Dubai six months ago.

His relatives informed that they are trying to get the mortal remains home.
