Dubai, Oct 2: In a liberalized and global economy, Marketing has become a key function in any organization- whether in products, services, or even for a NGO.    No wonder, the doyen of management gurus, Peter Drucker, constantly repeated, “There are only two revenue centres  in a corporation- marketing and innovation. All the other centres are costs.” That is not to say that the other centres are not important, or can be dispensed with. It is just that the other centres like procurement, and finance, have no role, if there is no business in the first place. This is also the reason why I titled my book MARKETING IS BUSINESS says Walter Vieira – Marketing Guru who has been described by Philip Kotler (the world’s guru on Marketing) as one of the best speakers on Marketing in Asia.

About the Speaker-

Walter Vieira, is a Senior Management Consultant who started India’s first Marketing Consulting Company (MAS) in 1975. He offers consulting and training services to companies in India, S E Asia, Africa and USA, over three decades.He is the author of 11 books including The Winning Manager; Manager to CEO and World Passport for the Global Manager. He has lectured at Kellogg, Cornell, NYU and many other business schools in USA, Europe and India. He has published over 700 articles in the business press.  He was the first Asian elected Chairman of the ICMCI (the world apex body of Management Consultants from 42 countries).

Vieira was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 by IMC-India., for his contribution in Consulting; and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009 by INDYS, for his contribution to Marketing.
