'Universal Coverage' - Health scheme for all in Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 2 (DHNS) :  The State government on Tuesday decided to implement ‘Universal Health Coverage’, a scheme which envisages bringing every citizen under a health scheme.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the State Health Mission Authority headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The scheme, which has been planned as per the recommendations of the High-Level Expert Group of the Union Planning Commission, will be launched on a pilot basis in Mysore and Raichur districts.

Health Minister U T Khader said the department will now begin preparations for implementing the scheme which is the first of its kind in the country. The Union government has agreed to fund the pilot project, he added.

Yes. And if apl and Bpl card holders too have universal insurance to go to private hospitals, then it is better to close the government hospitals. Jai ho to private sector. Poor ho to the taxpayer. Khader, you are just escaping from your responsibility of improving govt hospitals, especially with the government schemes. Khader Saab, you are hand in glove with the private sector. Kitna kickback mila?

Mr Khader, these government insurance schemes should be valid only in government hospitals so that the income (from taxpayers money) will go towards improving infrastructure in the government hospitals. Otherwise the private hospitals will use these schemes for making money out of taxpayers pocket. As it is they are making a killing from heavy billing and also from medical students capitation fees. Otherwise government hospitals will be dead and tax payers money will be swindled by private sector

Companies will give sufficient time for renewal of Life policy..But, Medical insurance company will not give..Medical insurance valid for 1 year or 2 year only..you have to renew it before due date..Deffinatly Company has to give prior notice before due date..May be your mediclaim company not interested in sending reminders since it has to give some rebate on premium for non claim of any medical benifit as your policy gets older!! In your case you can contact IRDA website for complaint..

Khader Bhai, Idea is very good. But why we need Planning Commission’s recommendation to implement such scheme? In fact Suraksha Card Scheme is wide famous in Udupi and DK District ever since it was promoted by Manipal Hospital. I hope your Government will manage to allocate some funds for the new scheme without indulging in another scam since Congiss become famous to make scam in each and every new scheme. At least you proved that few MLA’s can think about common public rather than searching for old case files

Dear Khader, when it comes to health, nobody is making any comments and noise. The main reason is people are ignorant about the health issues. They ignore preventions and end up life and few reach hospital if 108 answers on time. Not a single MLA or MCC staff is behind you just because they are used to culture of ignorance. They are happy when poor people die because they visit for showing sympathy. I have never seen a hard working politician like you.I pray,May the Allah bless you and bring you up in every election.
