Bangalore: US-based engineer Kavita Arumugam (31) falls from building, dies

Bangalore, Oct 2: In a tragic incident, a young software engineer died after accidentally slipping from her friend’s apartment balcony on the 11th floor in Sahakaranagar, Kodigehalli, Bangalore, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 2.

The deceased has been identified as Kavita S Arumugam (31).

Kavita had done her Masters in Computer Science and was working in E-Clinical Works, Boston, USA. She had come to Bangalore for her sister Karen’s wedding about five months back and had stayed in Bangalore.

Kavita’s father S Arumugam is Director of Man Elevators Pvt Ltd, Bangalore and her mother Concepta (Cocess) Arumugham is an active member of the Rajajinagar Konkani Welfare Association.

The funeral cortege will leave the residence Trinity, near Vani Girls High School in Rajajinagar 1st N Block at 10.30 am on Thursday, October 3, for the Mass at Assumption Church, Rajajinagar, which will be followed by burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hosur Road, Bangalore.

I knew Kavita very well. She was very kind to our kids. She brought our boys many gifts, was always there for their birthdays. She helped us so much when we came to the US, helping us with errands, Such as groceries, pharmacy. Though I know she had a strong social life, she was never a wild, badly behaved person with us. Always pleasant, happy to be around the family, happy to play with our kids. This is really, really shocking.

Kavita was the most generous and kind hearted person I knew. She would leave all her problems aside to look after others at the of a hat. She knew just how to console and advise people in trouble.
