Kasargod, Oct 4: Kasargod police have arrested four persons for plotting to loot the houses of businessmen. The same group had escaped from police when they were spotted driving in a stolen Scorpio car a few days ago.

The arrested are identified as Beltangady’s Ashraf(28), Bangalore’s Narayana(25), Beltangady’s Kasim (30) and Vittal’s Samshuddin (35). Two of the accused are absconding.

The accused had planned to loot the houses of prominent businessmen in Uppala and Chattanchal.

It is said that they had stolen a Scorpio vehicle in Sakleshpur and conducted an unsuccessful attempt to rob.  When the police stopped the car at Kumble, they had pushed the police and managed to escape, leaving the car behind.

When the police checked the car, they found scythes, iron rods, and other weapons inside. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Sakleshpur.

The police have successfully arrested the four based on reliable information.  The group had reached Kumble via Vittal. The police arrested them even as were reaching the national highway.

Among the arrested, Samshudin is the owner of a quarry in Ukkinadka. Bangalore's Narayana and Beltangady’s Ashraf were employed in the quarry.

The accused are believed to have been involved in several criminal activities in Mangalore, Udupi, Beltangady, Vittal etc.  They had planned to loot the houses of businessmen assuming that they may have more than 2200 sovereigns of gold, police said.

Another accused, Ammi who is absconding, is said to be the prime accused. His arrest may throw more light in the case, said the police.

    Ismail perinje,
where did you get this report of cow thieves(99.9% of them from your community)? If any body is transporting cows means, its stolen? not at all,Cow stealer should be punished but not all cow dealers.
These BD like activists find happiness in beating muslims& their supporters, they dont understand poor people's feeling-they dont have enough money to feed unwanted(non milking) cows.
I hope these cows stealings are just stories(very low percentage theft cows are being transported)

It is on record.Illegal transportation means what?Do Islam permit any illegality?Islam says to respect rule of land.On the other hand in this business only Muslim's names are registered. What is the need to give chance to BD?I am committed to my statement.

There is no rule that says you can't eat beef. well you cannot steal a cow that's for sure. a lot of times BD guys beat up people who are transporting cows legally.

BD guys are just ignorant youngsters who don't really know that they are puppets at the hands of politicians.

so talking about law of the land.. any law made by BD is NOT law of the land

Heartfully appreciate your frank opinion, dear Perinje Saab..
If all leaders (irrespective of any community) are like you, no one can have courage to do any illegal / criminal activities.
