Bantwal: Missing mother, son found dead in pond

Bantwal, Oct 4: A woman and her young son who had gone missing two days ago were found dead in a pond near their house at Chandalike, Vittal here on Friday October 4.

The deceased are Pushpa (28), wife of Janardhan, and their son Sharat Kumar (7).

Their bodies were found in a pond at a plantation located besise Kurbala road. The plantation belongs to Gangadhar Gowda.

Pushpa along with her son had gone out on Wednesday October 2 at around 2.30 pm, but did not return home. Her husband Janardhan had filed a complaint in this regard in Vittal police station.

On Friday evening, when Gangadhar Gowda was walking towards the plantation, he happened to look towards the pond and found the bodies floating in the water. He immediately informed the police.

SI Madhava Kudlu arrived at the spot and investigated.

On October 2, Pushpa had left home saying that she would be going to the school where her other two children Kavya and Radhika were studying, and visit her grandfather on the way back home. Locals informed that Janardhan and Pushpa were staying in a rented house for the past three years.

A case has been registered in Vittal police station.

    Very very sad.whatever the cause may be two small Young Girls have no mother now.looks but very suspicious.why did the man not searched around?was it a accidental slip from mother and son went to help her but failed?may thier Soul rest in peace.In villages many places there are such Ponds not protected.They can be very dangerous in rainy season.many People cant swimm.

    Very sad incident indeed.Suicide is not the remedy in life to face the odds of life.We need to be bold to face the life.This need to be taught in schools and at home.Very very sorry.
