Minister Kimmane sets another example...

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Oct 5: Karnataka primary and secondary education minister Kimmane Ratnakar Hegde, who was in national news for his bravery news in jumping into the water to rescue an accident-hit family in Shimoga last month, has once again set an example to his below cabinet colleagues as well as to those who believe in enjoying life at government's expenses!

Minister Kimmane has politely declined to take a delegation and his family members to Seoul, South Korea tour to attend a government level conference. The chief minister has approved a trip for minister Kimmane along with his delegation and family members, but to avoid unwanted expenses from the government treasury, the minister decided to travel alone.

It is the custom (and a habit too!) for ministers and top post holders of any government to travel along with wife, children, grandchildren, and nearest relatives abroad on government expense whenever the opportunity comes. There are very few people who decline such opportunities voluntarily.

But minister Kimane has once again becomes a role model to all such officers, and set an example of how government expenses can be saved by doing such good deeds.

The Minister's decision has received wide appreciation from intellectuals around the state.

When daijiworld asked the minister if he wouldn't like to take at least his wife along, he said, "If she is willing to come she can accompany me, but at my own cost, not with government money," he said.

Hope many more ministers follow his example.

If the trip of the minister to Seoul
with his cabinet colleagues benefited the state, then the minister should have taken them, but I appreciate his
thinking,he is more for the country than for himself, a good man, I hope our other politicians read and follow this.

Minister Kimmane sets a bench mark for other politicians to follow.
Why the Govt allow the relatives of the ministers to travel abroad for a government level conferences or study tour. For these things a ministers from the given field along with associated honest officials should be allowed to accompany the ministers. Why there are no guidelines to such foreign tours by contingent of ministers and their extended family members. Do such foreign tours have any impact on the economy of the state or they are just pleasure tours on Govt expenses.
Come on the whistle blowers, in future expose such wasteful pleasure tours on tax payers expenses when the poor farmers and BPLs are struggling to exist.

I think you all should join hands with Mr. Modi and be in a sea of good people than getting suffocated in Congress. I am sure where ever you all are, you will be good and do good.

Kimmane saab, we hope few more ministers take you as example to save Govt money ( indirectly our tax money ). This will enable state treasury to spend this money more wiser than lavishly. It is rare that a minister declines Govt offer to travel free with family. because given a chance, spending Govt money is always welcome move.
God Bless you sir and keep being an example to others.

While the act of Minister is commendable i want to know why the Chief Minister has to send the family members along with him to Seoul when it is the official work. And we have remember that the cost of their travel is paid from the tax payer's money. I really dont understand the practice of our ministers and M:A's who project themselves as servants of people should be allowd to be just the opposite once they are in power. How can CM Siddaramaiah justify this kind of extravaganza to his cabinet colleagues. How many more ministers have been given similar free trip to different countries at tax payers money?

As women expect to be accepted as/what they are, a man changing according to wife's demand is not trustworthy.
