Kundapur: Laborer from North Karnataka commits suicide

Kundapur, Oct 5: A laborer from North Karnataka is said to have committed suicide by jumping into a well in Kundapur. The incident has come to light on Saturday October 5.

The person is identified as 35-year-old Sharanappa. He was one of the many workers who had migrated from North Karnataka and living in tents on the roadside beside the NH 66.

Sharanappa, an alcoholic, is said to have jumped into a well situated opposite to the KSRTC bus stand and belonging to near NH 66 resident, Dinakar Sheregar on Friday October 4 night.

Sharanappa was a bachelor and no reason other than his alcoholism can be attributed as the reason for his suicide.

The suicide having come to light on Saturday, Kundapur fire service station head Bharath Kumar and his staff have arrived at the sport and lifted the body up. Kundapur police have conducted post mortem and have registered a complaint.
