Mangalore, Mar 10: [IST 9.00 am] As expected the bundh called by the Rashtriya Hindu Sene began with incidents of stone pelting and violence in the outskirts of the city on Friday March 10 morning.

Miscreants burnt tyres, blocked roads and even pelt stones on vehicles in several places of the city during the wee hours of the day.

Padil, Bajal, Yekkur, Alape and Kannur were the areas where incidents of violence were reported. While a tree was set on fire near Padil Railway Gate, tyres were burnt at Yekkur.

The fire services were rushed to Yekkur to extinguish fire. Roads were blocked by placing pipes and dust bins on the roads.

Stones were pelted at a KSRTC bus, two buses coming from Bangalore and a lorry near Kannur over bridge.

All the incidents of violence were reported between 4 am and 6 am.  Our photographer Dayanand Kukkaje was on the spot right in the wee hours to get some exclusive pictures for our readers.
