Kuwait, Oct 7: Tulunadu, known for its culture and religious diversity is a land of celebrations. With unmatched religious fervor, Tulunadu worships its gods and goddesses with as much religious sanctity as their forefathers did.

World Tulu Convention 2013 symbolizes this love which Tuluvas have for their land of Tulunadu, its language, its rich culture and heritage. The event will be held on October 17 and October 18 from 2 pm at Kamel Al Rayes Auditorium, American International School, Hawally.

The highlight of the event and good news for Tuluvas in Kuwait and well-wishers of Dr D Veerendra Heggade is that the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala will be the chief guest for the event.

The event will feature an array of impressive guests like Vinay Kumar Sorake, minster for urban development, Karnataka, Abhaychandra Jain, minister for youth services, sports and fisheries, Karnataka, Ivan D’Souza, lawyer and KPCC general secretary, U T Khadar, minister for health and family welfare, Karnataka, Padmashree Dr B R Shetty, chairman NMC, Dubai, Dr Prof Vivek Rai, Dr Prof Abdul Rahiman, Dr Chandrashekar, medical director, Aadarsh Hospital, Udupi, Vaman Nandavar, writer, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, drama/film director, Harish Kumar Pergade, social worker, Chandrakala Nandavar, writer, Astro Mohan, international photographer, Jayamala, renowned film actress, and Raymond D’Souza, former Mr World.

The cultural events planned will showcase the convergence of literature, art and culture, folk songs and dances, “Nank Matherla Bodu Drama” by Kusalda Kalavider Lakumi Group, spectacular Yakshagana performance Gandiva Biruva; scintillating dance performances by Excellent Group Suratkal; panel discussions on media and culture and other local cultural programmes which will bring over 300 artists and performers, and experts on a single platform.

Members from all Karnataka associations in Kuwait will participate to celebrate this grand event.

Tuluvas in Kuwait are looking forward to this first-ever World Tulu Convention in Kuwait being hosted by Tulukoota Kuwait under the leadership of president Ramesh Kidiyoor.

    On behalf of UAE Tuluva's my best wishes for the World Tulu Convention to be held at KUWAIT on 17th & 18th October, 2013. I am sure the subject adding Tulu language to the 8th schedule of our constition will be discussed thoroughly and the proper appeal can be forwarded to concerned Ministers in the Central Government.
