Mangalore, Oct 9: "The state government has been irresponsible in responding to the problems of people. It has announced a compensation of Rs 12,000 for arecanut growers who have suffered huge losses, which is not all sufficient. Hence, a minimum sum of Rs 25,000 per hectare should be given," said BJP state president Prahlad Joshi.

Addressing media persons at the district BJP office here on Wednesday October 9, Prahlad Joshi said the state government should mainly concentrate on providing immediate compensation to arecanut growers, and to those farmers who lost their cattle to foot and mouth disease.

"So far, as many as 5,000 cattle have died due to diseases and a minimum of Rs 25,000 should be given per cattle as compensation. The state government should announce the compensation soon and it should reach the beneficiary’s hand," added Joshi. "The BJP leaders visited a few of the farmers, prepared a detailed report and handed it over to the chief minister," he said.

Commenting on the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Joshi said a preparatory meeting was held in Mumbai recently with the BJP national president where all the necessary decisions were taken. In connection to this, a Lok Sabha convention will be held before December 15, he added.

Calling the state government ‘Kumbakarna’ (in deep slumber), Joshi said it has been almost four months since the budget was announced but still the projects planned have not been implemented, other than ‘Anna Bhagya’, which he said also has loopholes.

"As the government does not have sufficient funds, most of the works have stopped. The government has no time to respond to people’s problems and a few Congress leaders are commenting against their own government," he said, giving example of KPCC chief Dr Parameshwar who stirred a hornet's nest by stating that it was all right for minorties to not repay loans. "This shows that the government and the party are moving in two different directions," he said.

Briefing further, Joshi said as per the news published in media, a new proposal has reached the PM’s office reccommending certificates to Muslims who are proved innocent in terror activities. "This shows that Congress is fooling the minorities for vote banks and we are not surprised," he said, adding that BJP firmly believes that 'terrorist activities happen irrespective of religion'.

When asked about the Yettinahole project, Joshi said, "We will ensure that no problem is caused to the people due to Yettinahole project. Before starting the work, we will ask the CM to discuss the matter in detail and take people of both districts into confidence."

Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda, former district incharge minister C T Ravi, MLA Sunil Kumar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Monappa Bhandary, Pratap Sinha Nayak, Sulochana Bhat among others were present.

    Jokers!!!
Everyday, one or the other BJP leader coming in front of media and issuing (meaningless) statements.
FEKU has given clear instruction to them to do so, to be in news, so that people don't forget them!
They don't have any achievements in their credit to talk about. So, only blaming Congress, Sonia, Rahul, that's it.
But the fact is, even most of the BJP supporters are appreciating Siddu's governence, which is big head ache to state BJP now & they can't digest this truth.

There is one more Person from Karkala also like the former two. How these 3 can talk about the Present Govt. What was their contribution to the society. Just they know how to polarize the society.

That’s what everyone wants now. Let them move in different directions. Don’t wake them up. But same time set your own house in right direction since Yeddy is coming back it means his Chaddis’ also knocking the door. It creates more trouble for BJP Leaders again. Karnataka gone to Dongi Congiss not because of any corruption matters of BJP but due to infighting and people fed up with that issue only
