Abu Dhabi : Tickets for '...Nathlya Vellar' Konkani play released

Abu Dhabi, Oct 10: Representatives of the Konkani Community of St. Joseph’s Church, Abu Dhabi, met for the release of tickets of the very popular Konkani drama “AMI NAATHLYAA VELAAR” which will be played on Friday 15th November 2013, at 7:30 pm at Indian Social Center, Abu Dhabi under the initiative of KCO (Konkani Cultural Organization)



This play aims at bringing people together to support the construction of churches at Abu Dhabi and Musaffah, while providing social and cultural entertainment.

Fr. Savarimuthu and Fr. Valerian Fernandes were present for the release of the tickets. They encouraged people to cooperate and participate generously in this fundraising activity for St. Joseph’s Church.

BennetteD’mello, President of KCO, under whose able leadership this play is being brought to Abu Dhabi,urges the community not to miss the rare opportunity of witnessing this renowned Konkani drama and thus contributing to a worthy cause of church construction projects. He expects the same enthusiasm from the community as received in the past for all KCO philanthropic activities.



































The play is one of the best pieces ofKonkani theatrical entertainment, ever staged in Abu Dhabi. It is a play packed with emotion and comedy that brings out the best in Konkani language and artistic talent.

'Ami NathlyaaVelaar', is a thrilling social drama, originally a Marathi play by MadhussodhanKallelkar, later translated to Kannada by RamanandaChoorya.  The play is based on a true life story of a navy commander and his family, which became a sensational case in Maharashtra back in 1959. This play has created a record by staging over 5000 shows in Marathi, Kannada, Konkani and Tulu.

Dayan D'Souza ( Director of the play), Walter Nandalike, Asha Correa, Reegan Fernandes, Alphonse D'Souza, Alwyn Pinto, Pradeep Barboza, NanuMarol, Cynthia Pinto, Godwin Castelino and Laveena Fernandes will feature in the play.
