Mumbai: World Kannada poetic Literature and Cultural convention to be held on Oct 19-20

Mumbai, Oct 12: The second World Kannada poetic Literature and Cultural convention organized by the Shree Jnana Mandara Shaikshanika mattu Samskrathika Trust ®  will be held on October 19 and October 20 at the Delhi Karnataka Sangha under the leadership of Kannada Sahitya parisad president Harikrishna Punaroor.

Belgaum based veteran freedom fighter Rudrappa Beemappa Manchali will inaugurate the convention on October 19 Saturday at 10 am by hoisting the flag.

The poetic literature is to be flagged off  by Karnataka Sangha Mumbai’s ex- president Dr G D Joshi. Rangha Samaja Bangalore’s secretary S Thilakchandra will also be present on the dais on this occasion. Boluvar Samskrathika Kala Kendra Puttur’s president Chidanand Kamath kasargod is to hoist the Kannada flag.

Ramya Kalaranga Hassan’s president H Ramanna will hoist the flag and flag off the procession and later a musical play will be presented. The first session of the convention is to be inaugurated by Dr G D Joshi, N P Suvarna, N R Hiremat, G R Mallikarjuna,

Somashekar G Masali, Shambu Masali, Manohar Thonse Abu Dhabi and others will be present. Cultural programms will follow after the session.

The inauguration of the convention will be held in the evening. Jagadguru Prabhu Channabasappa Swamiji will bless the occasion.

Under the leadership of Delhi Kannada Sangha president Vasanth Shetty Bellare, the convention president is to be honoured with a Golden bangle and Basavashri Title.

'Balondu bavageethe', a novel written by H Somashekar will also be released by the State health and family welfare minister U T Khadar. Kannadiga pathrakarthara Sangha Maharashtra president Chandrashekar Palethadi will release the edition ‘Anubhava mantapa”.

On October 20, various sessions are to be held, followed by cultural events. Namma Kudla news anchor Priya Harish is to take part in the session on Social Changes of Women and different ways of life, presided by Akkamahadevi N Hiremat.

The valedictory function of the convention is to be held under the leadership of Belagavi Mata Sri Prabhu Channabasappa Swamiji and Harikrishna Punaroor, along with the presence of B K Hariprasad.

'Baghyavantaru', a book written by H Somashekar is to be released on the dais by state agricultural minister Shyamanuru Shivashankarappa, under the leadership of Venkatachala Hegde. The edition of the speech of the conventional president is to be released by the State Fisheries minister K Abhayachandra Jain.

Kannada and Cultural Department minister Umashree will hand over the Vachanashree Award. The cultural teams will be honoured by Alvas Education trust chairman Dr Mohan Alva. T A Sharavana will be the chief guest, Pundalika Halambi, prof Sadashiva, P V Kumarswami and others are to take part as the guests of honours.
