Udupi: Colourful procession marks Sharadotsava in Brahmavar

Udupi, Oct 14: The decennial Sarvajanika Sharadotsava concluded in a grand manner at Brahmavar here on Sunday October 13. After three days of festivities the idol of Goddess Sharada was taken for immersion in a colourful procession.

During the three days various rituals were performed. Many cultural events were organized to mark the occasion.

‘Chandika Homa’ was performed on Sunday. Hundreds of devotees took part in the ‘Sarvajanika Annasanthaparne’ arranged by the organizers.

The procession began from the Government Primary School, Brahmavar, and made its way past the old bus stand, old police station, Brahmavar main bus stand, and culminated at the lake near Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple here.

A colourful display of fireworks mesmerized the crowd at Board School and near the service bus stand during the procession.

Thousands of devotees took part in the procession and witnessed the immersion of the idol in the Temple lake.
