Dubai: Paladka parishioners host maiden get-together

Dubai, Oct 17: Parishioners from St Ignatius Loyola Church, Paladka currently residing in the UAE held their first get-together at Mamzar park on October 16.

The get-together began with a prayer by Paladka parish priest Fr Ivan Rodrigues, followed by an introduction of all the members.

The crowd was then divided into four teams with a team leader and unique names like 'Uzwad', 'Paladka Challengers', 'Paladka Express', 'Patla Friends'.

Various games and activities were organized for all the attendees where active participation was seen.

A delicious lunch was served at 2 pm. Fr Prakash Dantis, from Paladka presently residing at UP blessed the food with a small prayer.

After the lunch a quiz was organized on the topic 'Mangalore' by Roshan D’silva, Joyline Pinto and Vidya Fernandes, Vamanjoor. 

The Uzwad team secured an overall first place in all the games and activities. Paladka parish priest Fr Ivan Rodrigues conveyed a special message to the gathering and invited all for the centenary jubilee celebration of St Ignatius Loyola church, Paladka.

A lucky draw to win an iPad was organized. The iPad was sponsored by Andrew Aranha.

The collected amount from the lucky draw was donated to the Paladka church fund. Nishel Rodrigues won the lucky draw.

The program was hosted by Joyline Pinto, Vamanjoor. The get-together culminated with a hymn 'Somyak Deenvasunyan'.
