Mangalore: Ullal clashes - Police speed up investigation, arrest three

Mangalore, Oct 20: Ullal police have stepped up investigation in connection to the clashes between two groups that took place at Hosapalli Jumma Masjid in Melangady on Friday October 18 during Namaz.

Police have arrested Imthiyaz, Kandi Akbar and Deadly Irfan, said Mangalore south zone ACP Pavan Nijjur.

As per the complaint given by Savaad who was stabbed in the incident, police on Friday night raided more than 20 houses and arrested Samad Kodi and Iqbal Ambettady, it is learnt.

Accused Imtiyaaz was admitted to a private hospital after the incident. Police visited the hospital and interrogated him after which he was arrested.

As there were signs of clashes on Friday, police had deployed high security at the spot. In addition, video shooting was also done. Based on the evidence, arrests were made.

A few more arrests are likely in the coming days as the police are on the lookout for some of the absconding persons.


Another case registered

A person named Nissar has filed another complaint against 12 people including Savaad, Abbas Haji and Saujad. Police are also investigating this case.

    Now the time for all Muslims stand together And not for fight in the name of SSF & SKSSF both are Kerala based stupid organizations, Police should arrest leader of both organizations immediately to control future.

    I advise police department and home minister to call upon leaders of the both party and give stringent warning of the incidenets reiteration. Leaders are responsible for this incident. Without leaders, activist can do nothing. Arrest immediately relevanvt leaders or issue notice to concern local leaders and party chief.
