Dhaka, Oct 21 : Bangladesh and New Zealand evenly shared the honours at tea on Day 1 of the second Test match here in Dhaka on Monday.
Playing faster than a normal Test match, Bangladesh batsmen scored 228 in just 54.4 overs with average of over 4 runs an over, which is not usually seen in Test cricket.
A solid performance will get New Zealand back in the game. Bangladesh started off brilliantly just after lunch with Tameem and Mominul looking good. The latter fell just short of his half century. New Zealand did well to pick up wickets at regular intervals and struck right at the stroke of tea as Bangladesh wasted their advantage.
The sky has gone very dark now and reports have been coming in that it has started raining in the nearby areas around Mirpur.
