Mangalore, Oct 21: "The charge of constructing a new district Congress office has been given to minister Ramanath Rai. The plan will be chalked out and foundation stone for the new office will be laid in a month," said KPCC president Dr Parameshwar.

Speaking to media persons at district Congress office after participating in an executive committee meeting in the city, he said, "The executive committee meeting held under the guidance of AICC is a new change introduced by the party, wherein AICC and KPCC members will also be a part."

"Whenever possible, we will try to attend the meeting. The main agenda is to give importance to developmental works of the district and to solve party problems," said the KPCC chief.

Briefing about the issues discussed in the meeting, he said the decision on starting construction work on the new district Congress office will be done in a month. "We will also appeal to the CM to take necessary steps under law so that mayors are appointed in corporations soon."

Stating that chief minister Siddaramaiah has sanctioned Rs 20 crore for this district to those farmers who suffered losses due to fruit rot disease in arecanut plantations, he said, "We also asked the central government to take necessary steps in this regard."

However, there were no discussions on the proposed Niddodi power plant or Yettinahole project, he said.

Commenting on the evaluation of the works of the party, Dr Parameshwar said the process will be undertaken soon. "It is mainly to ensure accountability and it is one process which Congress believes in for maintaining transparency," he added.

"The state government is independent to take its own decisions, but when it comes to policy matters, based on the situation we will give guidance to the government," he replied to one of the questions raised by the reporters.

When a reporter asked as to why two ministers from the twin districts openly supported Dr Veerendra Heggade in connection to Sowjanya rape and murder case, Dr Parameshwar said most of the decisions on the case were made by the previous government.

"Based on the investigations by law, the government will take its decision. It will not skip any person during the process of investigation. Keeping in mind that allegations should not be made against a respectable and innocent person without evidence, the ministers made the statements," he clarified.

AICC secretary Selva Kumar, district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, minister K Abhayachandra Jain, KPCC vice-president Muniyappa, secretary Bosraj, secretaries Gaffur, Narayan Rao, Ivan D’Souza among others were present.

What Ramakrishna Mangalore suggested is correct. Let Cong Bhavan be outside Mangalore City and also let there be a full fledged Bank Branch attached to Cong Bhavan, so that it will be convenient to draw huge money and also deposit huge money, being the amount of Bribe exchanged.

New Congress Bhavan is the need of the hour in Mangalore because lot of workers of Congress need to accommodated.Since DK/UDUPI wiped out BJP,naturally people/voters will visit Congress office to air their grievances.

SiddRamaih is doing fantastic job from the day one(ANNA BAAGYA)and no power in Karnataka dare to touch him because he is CHAMPION OF HAVES NOT.....Coming LS election Congress may grab 19 to 30 seats.Communal and Corrupt BJP may satisfy with 4-5 seats.....

Ismailji looks like you dont read newspaper everyday. The present trend of BJP getting seats in loksabha elections has been increased when campared to the previous trends. That too without considering KJP into account. Also always please dont think about the last assembly election victory of congress each and everytime because winning and loosing is a part of life. BJP was defeated due to their internal fights and it has been accepted. For congress the recent assembly election victory has become like mangana kaiyali maanikya. Now kindly advise congress not to celebrate that victory celebrations for years together and also spend their time in blaming the previous BJP govt for next 5 years by keeping all the development works aside.

Where will be exact location of Cong Bhavan ?
How much Hafta (Sand Cement Steel paint) Manglore builders have to give for building this Bhavan ?
Anyway, let this be outside Mangalore City so that traffic congestion inside city will be little less.

Dr. Parameshwar you have been rejected by people in assembly election. But still congress party made you president of the party. You have promised all nonsense plans and projects for certain community to get their vote.. But understand even they have understood your drams.. Its really unacceptable to keep Parameshwara in party's decision making process.Let him be a worker in the party.. We dont want to hear any nonsense comments and statements from leader who has been rejected by public. Fortunately he didnt speak much in mangalore this time..
