ICYM Udyavar unit holds inter-ward skit, cooking competition

Udupi, Oct 22: ICYM Udyavar Unit, St Francis Xavier Church organized inter-ward skit and cooking without fire competition at Church Hall on October 20.

The program was inaugurated by Fr Rocky D’Souza, parish priest, along with Gilbert D’sa, president of Udyavarites Association, Dubai, Lawrence D’sa, vice president of parish council, John D’Souza, secretary of parish council, Urban Fernandes and Anitha Saldanha, ICYM animators and Alwyn Fernandes, president of ICYM unit.

Totally seven teams took part in the skit competition. The first prize was won by Piad C ward, second prize bagged by Piad B ward and third prize for Saud B. Housie housie game was also conducted and the collected ticket money was donated to the missionary movement.

The heart winning event of the day was cooking without fire. Teams from ten wards participated in the event. All had to prepare dishes without using fire. Team Saud B ward won the first prize, Monthi ward won the second and Saud A ward won the third prize. Others were awarded consolation prizes. All teams which won prizes in the both events donated the whole prize amount for the Missionary movement.

During the valedictory programme, the dignitaries congratulated the winners and those who took part in the events and appreciated the efforts of ICYM members of Udyavar Unit. Three of the achievers were also felicitated on the occasion for their achievements in their life. They are Rosalia Cardoza, Joyson Pereira and Robert.

Anusha D’Souza was the master of ceremony for the inaugural programme, president Alwyn welcomed the guests and gathering, Rithesh D’Souza thanked everyone for their support. The whole programme was co-ordinated by Steevan Culaco.
