Himachal gets ninth chief parliamentary secretary

Shimla, Oct 22 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Tuesday filled a vacancy in his team by inducting another chief parliamentary secretary.

Five-time legislator and four-time minister Mansa Ram, 73, was administered the oath of office and secrecy. With his induction, the number of chief parliamentary secretaries again rose to nine.

"It hardly matters in which capacity I serve the people," Ram, a legislator from Karsog in Mandi district, told reporters after the ceremony.

Ram replaced Rakesh Kalia who resigned July 24 to uphold the principle of "one man, one post" after being appointed All India Congress Committee secretary.
