Mangalore: Peeping Tom chased by locals, all is 'well' in the end!

Mangalore, Oct 23: In an amusing incident, a man who reportedly came to peep into a bathroom took 'refuge' by jumping into a well when people chased him.

The incident took place near Kotekar post office on Tuesday October 22 night.

The peeping tom is identified as Umesh, resident from Ghat areas. He allegedly tried to peep into a bathroom of a house located near Kotekar post office, it is learnt.

Noticing him, locals tried to catch him, and Umesh, in a bid to escape from their hands, jumped into a nearby well.

Stuck between the proverbial devil and the deep blue sea, the man swam in the well water for about an hour after which he was rescued by the fire brigade officials who were called to the spot.

Later Ullal police arrested him.

Earlier too he was involved in similar incidents and was beaten up by public, said the locals.
