Kundapur: No protection for cows due to vote bank politics - HJV

Silvester D’Souza
Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (EP)

Kundapur, Oct 25: “A son, who remains silent when injustice is being meted out to his mother, has no right to live. A cow is like a mother to the Hindus as per our forefathers. There is no protection for cows due to present vote bank politics and greed for power,” said Satyajit Suratkal, convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike.

He was speaking at a protest meet against cow slaughter held by Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Koteshwar at Shastri circle here on Thursday October 24.

“Though Anti-Cow Slaughter Act came into existence in the year 1964, cows are still being slaughtered. The government is registering cases against one community, just to appease the other community. We have accepted the principles of Sanathana Dharma and we will not be afraid even if hundreds of such cases are registered against us,” he said.

“Cows are known as walking gods but thousands of cows are slaughtered here daily. The Vedike strongly condemns their slaughter and has been creating awareness in the society. The world has put forth its demand for cattle-based agriculture. It is not possible to imagine our lives without cows. It has been proved that cow’s urine is capable of curing cancer. Yet there is no protection for cows,” he lamented.

“Ironically, nowhere in the three holy books of Muslims is it written that cow’s meat should be consumed. Cow slaughter is banned completely in Kashmir. The government here is trying to appease one community by hurting the feelings of the majority community,” he added.

“The animal lovers and other activists who condemn slaughter of sheep in temples are unable to see the slaughter of cows. Officials do not go to slaughterhouses. Ours is a democratic country which has to maintain communal harmony. Why then is the law different for different people? Everybody should be bound by law. Only then will the true meaning of communal harmony be understood,” he said.

“Why should we be scared when we fight for our religious beliefs and when we do not steal cattle, idols or kidnap children?” he asked.

Bhaskar Siddapura, convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike and deputy convener Rajesh Koteshwar were present. District convener Dhananjay Koteshwar welcomed and gave a key note address. Arvind Koteshwar conducted the programme.

Every family should adopt a cow into their homes. If you have capacity to buy a car, then you should adopt a cow. This should be the law. Higher the market value of your car, then higher no, of cows should be adopted. Example. If car cost Rs. 5 lacs, then adopt 1 cow. If car costs 20 lakhs then adopt 4 cows etc. If car costs 1 crore have 20 cows. By having these cows you can make use of the cowdung for your personal use, and the cow urine is also v. good for health as per HJV...

And for those people living in flats, have one cow next to your car in the carpark..When starting your car in the morning, pat your cow also...

Instead of giving big speeches like this by these HJV leaders, why can't they tell all these people gathered there to have atleast on cow in everybodys house? Then there will be increase in cattle generation in the country and on the contrary they can have milk at home plus they can worship their own cows, instead of worshipping somebody elses cow which they are doing now, when it is required.

At present, most of the dairy farmers are above 50 years of age and the younger generation is not ready to do such jobs as they are more educated than their parents. They prefer to work for a good company and have a better life. If these leaders do not encourage to have cows of their own, in another 20 years nobody will be able to fix the price for the cow dung forget about the milk. It can be done by import of milk or milk powder, but not dung. This is going to be true as the statstics say like that at present. It is not because of cow slaughter, but because there is nobody willing to have cows in their house, atleast for their own use. I am writing this, as I am already a dairy farmer, and reached senior citizenship and in the verge of closing my dairy slowly.

First learn, then act and then come on stage to speech.

    A appreciable point.
HJV is making awareness in minds of Hindus saying that Cow is their walking god, should not sell them. How many Hindus will keep their cows at home till the natural death..? can say no one.
Well if HJV do not like using old cows for meat. HJV should make an alternative for old cows, give a reasonable rate to cow farmers and buy from them.

HJV shouldn't persist behind cow.by their actions crimes against cows increased..beef eaters were there in the past too,but ,that time this type of stealing of milking cows from shed and inhuman way of transport was not there.BY over reactions of Hindu organisations gave way for hoarding and demand for beef increased...

I would like to ask one question to all those people who says cow is their mother. Are u selling your own mother's milk for earning your daily bread ? Answer from your heart if u have it. Even you are snatching the rights of a calf by selling it's mothers milk. Just one minute for calf b'coz let cow release milk for it's baby then u separate calf from cow and stealing all milk. Am I right ? A human mother feeding it's baby for atleast 5 - 10 minutes much smaller size than a calf physically. Not letting to drink full milk to even new born calf are you humans ?
'' TUM KARE TO CHAMATKAR AUR HUM KARE TO BALATKAR'' right ?

When God created this world, He created all the living things and creatures on earth and sea for man's use. God did not say you should not eat this and that animal or thing. In olden days when a guests came to visit a Hindu family, they were treated with meat of a fatted cow. Serving Cow's meat was part of "Athithi Satkara". Secondly,People have their fundamental right to eat what they want. No body can stop them. This all misplaced belief of the fundamentalist group.

Protection of Cows too should not be linked to Vote Bank Politics. Then things will even out.
These kind of things were never heard in the past when we were young. It was one community which was engaged in 'cattle trade' and there was no animosity then whatsoever. Now this.
Who rakes all this up is the million dollar question? The 'root' has to be struck for all this unwanted things to stop.if political mileage is sought to be drawn by any party leaders then the public who elect them must take remedial measures immediately. Otherwise there will only be anarchy in the coming days.
    Let peace be.

Those who nurture cows do that for their living and not because they want to worship the cow. Once the cow stops yielding they sell it which as per present rules it is forbidden.
They possibly cannot afford to feed these cows nor will they have space to have a herd of them as times goes by.

When these cows are taken away by the so called cow worshippers where is the guarantee that they will feed them? Also as the animal gets old it will have diseases about which the cow cannot express. It is nothing but torture for these aged cows.

Love for animals is in born and going by statistics there are not many that come under this category.

Keeping a cow till it reaches natural death without any love and caring is nothing but torture.

Actually going behind cows, they won't waste time "IF" they keep collecting the dung from falling on the wayside and the urine which is required for cancer cure. They can earn their livelihood.
Not only that the environment around will be clean as these cows never have a shed of their own and are wayward animals like these people.
They only know to milk them...
