'Chain' of robberies in Udupi, Kundapur hints at gang operation

Udupi, Oct 26: In three separate incidents that indicated the operation of a gang of robbers in Udupi district, gold chains were snatched from women by men on motocycles.

Two of the three incidents occured in Udupi and another one in Kundapur. All three incidents occured at around the same time on Saturday October 26, giving rise to suspicions of planned robbery. Moreover, in all three incidents, Pulsar bikes were used.

In Udupi, two robbers arrived on a bike and snatched a gold chain from a woman named Shanta while she was walking near Vishumurthi temple.

In another incident, a mangalsutra weighing 3 sovereigns, belonging to a woman named Baby, was snatched by robbers.

Similarly, two bikers at Kundapur, snatched a chain weighing 6 sovereigns from a woman named Lalita.

It is learnt that two cases have been registered in the Udupi police station and one case in Kundapur police station.

Moreover, unconfirmed reports stated that two of the accused have been caught by Katpady police.

    Better the Police should control bikes often and sudden in These Region.Amsure These culprits come from this area.And women they know that often chains will be snatched ,still why they wear for going about so costly Gold ornaments.people should also be careful.Police cant help here.self helf is also better than crying later.
