While congratulating proud son of Konkani music Kevin Misqith I would like to share my views. There is different flavor in Kevin’s music because he took Konkani music to different dimensions. He innovated new trend by introducing lot of Latino flavor and well modulated chord progressions with fine control of rhythm. Unlike stereo type Konkani song chord progressions which restricted purely to major or minor scale with minimum accidentals he inversed the style with combination of relative scales with lot of improvising guitar licks. In fact lyrics are excellent enjoyable to all. Younger generation which is fascinated towards Rock and Bollywood music responded well to Kevin’s music because it resonates in same way. If we wish our youngsters to carry forward Konkani music, then we have to create music of their choice. Whenever experimenting with new form musicians and composers have to work hard but it will be successful. I don’t think we have shortage of lyricists. Anyhow Great job Kevin. Your voice is unique. Keep it up.
