Greater Noida, Oct 26 (IANS): Formula 1 pundit Eddie Jordan said here Saturday that he loves what Force India owner Vijay Mallya has done with ‘his team’.
It was not long ago when Jordan’s team, the Jordan Grand Prix (1991-2005), was bought by Midland F1 Racing (2006) which in turn was bought by Spyker F1 (2007) before Mallya purchased it in 2008.
“My own team Jordan is now Force India and I love what Mallya has been doing with the team. He has been, along with some other people, a big shining light to make sure that India is on the Formula 1 calendar,” the 65-year-old, who was the founder, owner and team principal of Jordan Grand Prix, told IANS at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) paddock.
Currently an analyst and commentator for BBC, Jordan is also known for giving F1 legend Michael Schumacher his first break in the sport at the 1991 Belgium Grand Prix.
Force India lie sixth in the constructors’ standings with 62 points, behind McLaren and ahead of Sauber.
