Mangalore, Oct 28: “Patience is the key to success. Every religion teaches tolerance and this quality is essential to lead a good life,” said U T Khadar, state minister for health and family welfare.

He was addressing an international dialogue on ‘The Future of Power’ organized by Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual organization, at TMA Pai Convention Hall on Sunday October 27.

The minister also said that politicians must undergo training to develop patience and spirituality. “In public life, these things are essential to lead a peaceful life,” he said referring to his own life with his family and the people.

Businessman Nizam Jumma said, “Today, power brings negative connotations to our mind. Weapons, missiles, or guns do not decide power. India is known for its benevolent power. The real power lies within. If Indians are imitating the West in modernity, the West is looking to be led by India’s ancient wisdom, values, and powers. Power is returning to the land of India,” he added.

Minister for forest, environment, and ecology B Ramanath Rai also spoke on the occasion. The message of Dada Janki, chief of Brahma Kumaris, was shown through a direct video presentation.

Anothony Phelips emceed the programme. There was a panel discussion on spirituality and power. Helen Sayers, director of Oasis Life, Skills, and Training Services, Oman, Lakshmi Kumaran of MRPL, and journalist George were part of the panel discussion.

Earlier, an hour-long traditional Bharatanatyam dance performance by Nithya Nikethana Group, Kodavoor, charmed the audience.

The programme was attended by some of the eminent international management and communication specialists from UK, Australia, America, and Africa.

Bramakumaris is a great group who do not have any affiliation to any organized or other religious outfits but preach on peace, love, and the mysteries of life!!

I am an ardent follower of Sr. Shivani whose discourses and answers to life's questions I would strongly recommend to one and all and ponder on them keeping aside one's religious affiliations!!

Unless the radical approach propogated by all different organized religions that theirs is the best, no change is going to take place!! The problem is our children are indoctrinated right from birth and it becomes an uphill task to get them to believe that God is one and religion is manmade by vested interests!! Jai Hind!!
