P.S. Raghavan new Indian envoy to Russia


New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS): P.S. Raghavan, a secretary in the ministry of external affairs, has been appointed as India's next ambassador to Russia, it was announced Monday.

An Indian Foreign Service officer of 1979 batch, Raghavan will succeed Ajai Malhotra, who retires Nov 30.

Fluent in the Russian language, Raghavan is expected to take up his assignment shortly, the statement said.
