Mangalore: Delegation urges ministers to choose Ivan D'Souza as MP candidate

Media Release

Mangalore, Oct 29: Leaders of various associations jointly appealed to union minister Oscar Fernandes and district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai to choose advocate and KPCC secretary Ivan D’Souza as the candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

A memorandum was submitted to the ministers by the delegation.

Acknowledging the memorandum, the ministers assured to respond to their appeal.

The delegation comprised leaders of various associations including Vikas Shetty, Sathish Pengal, Krishna D Anchan, Sunil Gabriel, Rafiq Sheik, Yatindra Putran, Gangadar Syrian, Srikanth Suvarna, Alston D’cunha, Azeez Krishnapur, Riyaaz Ahmed, Mohammed Salman, Tanzil, Cyril D’Souza, Monthu Lobo, Anil Thoras, Vijay Baikampady and others.

    In Mangalore City Corporation there are 3 MLAs from minority community. Hence MP seat to be given to major community, either POOjary or Vijaya Kumar Shetty. It will create the balance in the congress party.

    I wish some political parties chose philanthropist to run for MP/MLA, so they can use government money wisely to the benefit of Mangalore/Udupi districts. Then voters need not fight between BJP Vs Congress where people are certainly educated than in any other districts. But I see more blind followers in this forum. Some are outside India want to win their party without voting them. What a pity, forgive them Lord, they do not know what they are talking.

    Here for Mangalore MP seat, even though I appreiciate Janardhana Poojary, he is MP from Congress party and as a candidate too from 1977 ie more than 35 yrs. Now age is also catching him. Mr. Janadahana Poojary himself should not contest election.

    U T Kader ia already rendering wonderful service and is a minister.

    Congress should look for a dynamic young leader who can bring all people together. A lady candidate might be a ideal choice too.

    Right now,Mangalore has only one potential MP candidate ie.,Srimaan B.Janardhan Poojary who is much populor than Ivan D'souza.Poojary is not only pro poor but a clean politician who can be depended upon.If Nalin gets another chance to contest from M'lore against Poojary,I am sure that Poojary will win with large margin.Even RSS/BJP people may rally behind Poojary this time as they did in respect of U.T.Khader and Lobo.
    If Ivan is pitted against Nalin,it will be advantage BJP.Mangalore should give scope for that.

    Earlier election, he has been denied the seat and due to this and his crooked/ wicked ways led his supporters to burn the effigies of a world famous and leading businessman‘s images in public . If this time also he is denied seat, once again he will indulge all kind of antisocial activities. So requesting with the public not to support this person as he is not helpful for any one. He is not fighting for justice for those who have a peaceful life. He is one class of person who will try to wield power for his own selfish indulgence.
