Kundapur: Fishing trip turns tragic as 17-year-old boy drowns

Kundapur, Nov 1: In a tragic incident, a teenage boy was washed away in the sea while fishing with his father off the Gangolli coast here on Thursday October 31 evening.

The deceased has been identified as Kishan Patel (17), son of Gangadhar Patel and Sumana, residing near lighthouse at Kotegundi in Gangolli.

He was studying in 10th standard at SV school, Gangolli. His father is a fisherman by profession.

On Thursday evening, Kishan had gone fishing in the sea along with his father. Their boat capsized because of the high waves and both were thrown into the water. Kishan was swept away immediately by the strong waves, and though Gangadhar tried to find him, his son could not be located. Finally Gangadhar swam ashore and alerted the locals.

The body was found early morning on Friday November 1.

A case has been registered in Gangolli police station.
