Doha : Voice workshop for budding Konkani singers on Nov 29

Doha, Nov 3: Mangalore Cultural Association has announced voice workshop for all Mangalorean Konkani singers in Doha Qatar on Friday November 29 from 3 pm to 8 pm at the Wyndham Grand Regency.

MCA president Arthur Pais informed that this year well known singer /composer/ musician from Mangalore Allwyn Noronha Bajpe will conduct this workshop. Mangalore Cultural Association, Doha has already organized  three voice workshops of this type ever since its  interception in 2008, to help the local established as well as the budding singers to improve their singing skills.

Allwyn Noronha a high school mathematics teacher by profession in St Joseph’s PU College, Bajpe has a vast knowledge in music,. He is the choir master of Bajpe parish. He has trained Bajpe parishioners to win diocese-level singing competitions organized by the Konkani Natak Sabha for three consecutive years, and also judged the above competitions for three consecutive years. He has vast experience in judging singing competitions in and around Mangalore.

He has composed many songs and brought out two music albums “Bhangramani” and “Bhogthiponi” and composed and arranged music for “Bhogthiponi”. The songs from the audio “Bhangramani” have won several prizes specially, the most favorite being “Pondar Thujya” He has staged seven musical nites, sung for several musical albums and harmonized several devotional albums. He was a vocalist for the bands “Human Bondage” and “Cosmic Rays”. He presently runs a one-man band called “Micro Band”. Allwyn is well known to the local Konkani singers in Qatar as he was one of the panel of judges for GVOM – 3 Doha semi-finals last year.

Voice workshop in Doha is desired by the singers themselves as it helps them in every way to improve their singing. It is a very good opportunity for them as there are lots of new things to learn and also to improve their singing quality and performance. Allwyn is well known to train singers as he has prepared many singers for inter-parish singing competitions and he is also a well experienced teacher by profession. Surely he will guide the singers in the right way.
