Mysore: Actor Rajesh of 'Jungle Jackie' fame dies after falling off building

Mysore , Nov 3: Actor Rajesh, hailing from a tribal background and popularly known as ‘Jungle Jackie’  died on the afternoon of Sunday November 3 after falling off the third floor of the building in Parasayyana Hundi here where he lived.

Rajesh, who was literally picked from the jungle and introduced to Kannada cinema and television, gained fame across the state after appearing in a reality show on a Kannada TV channel.

It is learnt that as soon as Rajesh fell off the building, he was immediately rushed to a private hospital in the city. It is said that he was badly injured as he fell on iron rods. Although he was rushed to hospital with the help of 108 ambulance, Rajesh failed to respond to treatment and died.

Sources said that the makers of the reality show Rajesh had appeared in had taken good care of him, giving him a makeover and even helping him financially. But after the show was over, he went into depression as he could not adjust to the new life, and had been admitted to K R Hospital for treatment. It is not known why Rajesh went to the third floor of the building, or how he fell.

His film ‘Jungle Jackie’ had released but it failed in the box office, and this is also believed to have added to his depression. Moreover, there are reports that the makers of his first film had given him a cheque that bounced.
