Mangalore, Nov 5: In an alleged attempt to murder, a group of five persons brutally attacked a man in broad daylight at Kodialbail here on Tuesday November 5. Another person who was with the victim, and who too was the group's target, managed to escape.

The injured person has been identified as Lathif. Nazir who was with him managed to escape.

It is said that Lathif and Nazir were accused in an assault case, for which the hearing was scheduled on Tuesday. The two were returning from the court when the group of five confronted and attacked them, before fleeing the spot.

In 2004, an attempt was made on BJP leader Chandrashekar Uchil's life, for which Lathif and Nazir along with a few other persons were arrested. It was in connection with this case that Tuesday's attack took place, sources said.

The group assaulted Lathif, while Nazir ran away to a nearby hotel and hid himself. The attackers fled the spot immediately. The injured Lathif was shifted to a hospital by an auto rickshaw driver.

It is said that some of the passersby, though they could not catch the attackers, managed to click their photos in their mobile phones. The police are thus hopeful of catching the culprits soon.

Barke police rushed to the spot and further investigations are on.

Don’t you feel that we are falling back to decade old “Namma Kudla” situation where once Gang war was famous?

You are right. Such a gang war (fight) used to there during 60’s 70’s ………and it is not a new phenomenon.

Such incidents happen only with gangsters and not with those who live a decent way of life.

Why to blame Mangalore? Criminals are three in every part of the world, even in most advanced and educated place like US.

Let us hope for the best.

    Dear Readers,
I had commented some days ago with regards to a same kind of incident, but on a different way. Anyways the Law and Police are working in their own ways as per the Law book but do you know that above all these there are books where we say WORD OF GOD and in these books it is written that WHOEVER DOES CRIME, WILL BE PUNISHED WITH SAME, WHOEVER RAISES SWORD WILL BE UTED WITH SWORD, WHOEVER WITH ABUSE WORDS WITH WORDS WILL GET BACK WITH WORDS.....Hope we can understand this as he who has said this will not come to make us understand. That's why we are created as human beings and the WORD OF GOD is left to us.

I hope this is why animals do not have anything called word of god, because what we humans have animals do not have......but somewhere we can see incidents quite opposite.....Good deeds which humans must be done are done by animals and what animals supposed to be doing is done by humans.....

It’s all because of false pride and survival of the fittest theory. Does anyone benefit from killing fellow humans. Humans are worst beasts. Anyway, no sympathies for these rogues..
