Bantwal, Nov 7: Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, head of media in the southern region for Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has criticized the government for trying to topple the religious beliefs of the people in the name of law against superstitions.  He has threatened of massive protests if the government continues in its attempt to harm the religious sentiments of the Hindus.

Speaking to reporters in Kalladka here on Wednesday November 6, he said that the government is trying to snatch away the religious freedom given in the Constitution and trying to dominate Hindus.

"What is the harm in the believing in Vaastu? On the one hand the ministers are demolishing rooms in the Vidhana Saudha in the name of Vaastu and on the other hand they are trying to break beliefs in the name of law against superstitions," he said.

He said that religion is necessary in politics but let there be no politics in religion. "The government is trying to thrust the viewpoints of the left parties on the Hindus. Do not play with the sentiments of Hindus.  The central government is trying to confuse Hindus, Muslims and Catholics in the name of law which will be disastrous to the country," he said.

"Our chief minister who says that he does not believe in God, visits Chamundeshwari Sannidhi and Kollur. Why this farce?" He questioned. He demanded that the parts of law which impair the religious sentiments of Hindus be given up.

"The state government is trying to appease a particular community by means of introducing Shaadi Bhagya scheme. Poverty affects people equally.  If the government indeed is concerned about the poor, they should extend the benefit to all the poor of all communities, by converting Shaadi Bhagya to Mangalya Bhagya scheme," he said.

'CBI investigation should be done sincerely'

"Let the investigation of the brutal rape and murder case of Sowjanya be done sincerely by CBI officials so that Sowjanya and her parents get justice," said Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

"In spite of the demand for a thorough investigation by various organizations, it is sad that the suspects were not investigated. This makes way for more suspicion and hence all our doubts should be cleared through CBI investigation," he said.

"The investigation should be done sincerely and the accused should be punished severely so that these kinds of incidents are not repeated," he added.

The incident is a blemish to the district, but it is shameful is that proper investigation has not been done even after a year since the incident, he pointed out.

"Let not politics, money power and prestige influence the investigation. The government and judicial system should consider the case in a serious manner. It is not right for officials, people's representatives, and religious leaders to take the incident lightly. We should understand the girl’s pain, and the tragedy of the family. People involved in such cruel acts should think of their own sisters and daughters," he said.

"It was wrong to destroy evidence as soon as the incident took place and arrest the wrong person. Being a doctor, I cannot believe that the arrested man has done such a heinous crime. The crime would have been committed by 3 to 4 persons," Dr Bhat said.

"I have great faith in Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. As soon as the allegations were made against the Kshetra and his family, Dr Veerendra Heggade should have openly asked for investigation. Even now he should try to clear the suspicion among people about his family," he added.

    Dear K. S. Mayya, Mangalore/BangaloreThursday, November 07, 2013,

I quote yours: "if Hussain can leave Hassan can too" or the likes. Unquote.

WITH THE QUOTE OF YOURS AND YOUR BLIND SUPPORT TO COMMUNAL BJP & MODI IS DISPLAYED YOUR INNER QUEST TO GIFT MINORITIES..

AND THAT IS YOUR STATE OF MIND.

It is the desire of the Commune’s that the minorities leave Indian Territory and you can dream of it. Never the less you can dream so for centuries for ever.

WE ARE NOT LIVING WITH THE MIGHT OF THE SUPPORT OF THE GOVERNMENTS BUT WITH OUR OWN MIGHT. WHEN GOD IS FOR US NOBODY IS AGAINST US.

Secondly, there is no compromise with the commune’s rather they are approaching us to the minorities for vote bank.

You are just commenting on the news spread and a hype of bubbles created by PuppyLove MOdi's P.R.O's.

Congress has not jumped into election fray and there is plenty of time and these powerless bjp are fish without water.

Congress has achieved far, far much good to the country and to the citizens and we don't need another NDA's worst rule.

IS MAHARASHTRA'S SUPERSTITION LAW APPLICABLE TO KARNATAKA.

When i joke, the second person can easily perceive. Where as your joke is fake like Modi's Gujarat developments.

Government is not messing around with religion.
It is banning bad elements who are hurting people with devious activities in the name of religion. CM wants to ban such superstitions and people involved in such activities.
It is so easy to fool people in the name of religion which is so evident now-a-days especially during election time.
So many women are falling prey and so many educated and naturally uneducated too fall into the trap of these devil people who practice witchcraft etc. and bring misery to so many innocent people. These people who practice witchcraft can mesmerize people and see that bad things happen to people through devious ways to make believe that they have the powers to cause problems to enemies without entering into fights and clandestinely.

Joseph, i respect your political view since you are Congress supporter..Its not politics here..almost all religions have one or the other rituals which other may think superstition due lack of knowledge of that particular religion..its very difficult to differentiate between faith, belief & superstition..People need education not laws for such things..unless people decide which is superstition & which is not, what is the use of laws?..Muslims have circumcision for kids(some arab countries do for Girls also), Jews also follow circumcision for Boys..But other religions dont do it & it is totally banned in some of the secular western countries...now where you draw the line?? Issue here is not related to politics..But Govt is messing around the religion..Our Health minister Khader on Durgha issue yesterday said,Govt & politicians dont have any right to interfere in religious matters!!

    Dear Mr. Gonsalves,
I think you did not get the joke so never mind. Yes there is no superstition law and hence the joke that you should be booked for mistaking the gender of YR Scindia under non-existent law. However, please note that Maharashtra Govt (under Congi watch) has passed it about after the assassination of a supporter of superstition law. Will it take much time for Siddu (with atheist tendencies might find it delicious too) to follow suit?

I strongly suggest you to make peace with the notion that Modi and BJP are here to stay. Lest you may have to find a tag line synonymous with "if Hussain can leave Hassan can too" or the likes.
Regardless of your "beliefs" of BJP and Modi they are popular. Going by your sense of humor I will support Modi just because he is not butcher in the literal sense as you make out. No court has said that.
If Modi becomes PM, it is not because of BJP but because of the mess that was 8 years under UPA led by Congress. Please credit the very people you support for that outcome and not support from common man like me.

Siddharamiah himself went to a popular Jyothshi before sunrise some time earlier(when he joined Congress & contested from Mysore Dist.for MLA), & this news was reported in media & telecasted several times. Now, the same person has become CM & interested banning things.

These Buddhijeevies has been commenting since decades, & have the people ever listened to them ? Only some media highlights them. People reactions to occassions as Jatras, Car Festivals, Festivals like Deepavali-Ayudha Pooja-Ganesh Chaturthi, etc. can be clearly seen. Most News Paper cover Nithya Bhavsya owing to Readers interest.

Perhaps these Buddhijeevies think people are out of mind, & they expect a answer from public (like in Subrahmanya).

Naturally these rules can never be implemented to public. Even these Ministers will get their prasadam during election results for their karnamas.

Belief in Vaastu-Jyothishya-Shastras-Religious Rituals-Ayudha Pooja-Gou Pooja-Navarathnas,etc.can never be washed off from peoples mind.

The whole premise for banning superstition is wrong. Because it can be interpreted as "anything that we do not know why we are doing it" is superstition. Hindu religion, custom and tradition as it stands can be fully by definition be termed as superstition. Most people practicing this religion do not know why they are doing it. If at all, I could see only one good thing coming out of it. Bring all under the law banning superstition, slowly people will start asking questions. What is the meaning of this, and why am I doing this and one by one everything could fall out of the superstitions list and Hindus can be Hindus once again. However, it could be interpreted by many as Govt imposing restrictions on their religious belief while the leftists as rightly pointed out by Mr. Bhat will rejoice that India is close to be baptized with Communism and they are winning.

All faith healings like Reiki, Pranik Healing, spirit healing should be brought under the category of Superstition. I have seen many real Homeopathy Doctors foolishly resorting to Reiki or Pranic instead of fully relying on only Homeopathy. Reiki & Pranic both are fake. I have studied both these healing therapies and hold Certificates, hence I can authoritatively say that these are FAKE Therapies.

We all Hindus had given you people a golden chance to administer the state for more than a decade. Why there were internal differences among BJP officials. Why some of the BJP MLA's from Mangalore constituency were just bothered of only making money? In fact you all yourself ruined the BJP and so obviously you people lost to Congress!!!
Whatever can you people get back the glory of BJP as it was prevailing under great leaders like Atal Bihari Vajapayee or Advani? First and foremost try to reform the existing BJP officials and then blame the opposition.

Super stition, black magic, white magic everything existed for millions of years.
Our surroundings are filled with positive and negative forces.
Positive force is called GOD and negative force is called evil. Negative force is not as powerful as positive force but every force has power. It is not so easy to gain the postive force. There are some people who have mastered the art of using or misusing evil forces for their benifits.
This has to be contained. Only way to contain is to ban these activities. This is not new. If you look at history, these people were always banned from societies and they used to live remote life.
These kind of practices have nothing to do with religion. If some people are raising voice in support to these things, it is only to stay in limelight and they do not know what they are doing.

    Good ban read on.............
These are not miracle workers. They aren't prophets, deities, snake charmers, or the reincarnation .Each of these 12 preachers (who are, for whatever reason, mostly men) claims or claimed to have healed the sick through nothing more than faith. But what proof is there that any of them told the truth? As you will see, their real stories are much more terrifying than what you'd expect...

    1. Larry Maxwell

Perhaps Larry Maxwell's healing powers don't extend to clairvoyance. In 1991, the former TV repairman was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of theft by deception when an undercover state trooper posing as an AIDS victim gave Maxwell a $500 down payment on a $5,000 fee to cure the cop of AIDS.

When sentenced, Maxwell swore he was a faith healer and this was his first time charging a fee, adding, "Maybe I needed the money."

    2. Peter Popoff

In the 1980s, German-born Peter Popoff had a nationally televised show and was receiving large donations for his campaign to smuggle bibles into the Soviet Union via a hot air balloon. The bible never happened, but Popoff's nationally televised shows of extraordinary faith healing continued, making him a national icon. That is until James Randi attended one of Popoff's faith healing events. Randi brought a radio receiver with him.

While the audience saw Popoff magically call out details of the audience he couldn't have known, Randi found an audio channel in which he could hear Popoff's wife telling Popoff details from audience Q&A cards she had collected before the show.

Popoff d bankruptcy a few years after the fraud was exposed, but his decline was brief. Despite many news programs consistently running exposés on Popoff's practices, he was able to gain a Federal tax-exempt religious organization status in 2006. In 2007, he purchased a $4.5 million California home.

The next step of this Govt. May be to ban our scriptures and temples.

The so called progressive people with the help of Congress are trying to finish Hinduism in this country.

Except few clauses like animal slaughter and banamati, the entire Law is against the spiritual science and religious beliefs of Sanathana Dharma.

While there is a clause against animal slaughter in religious places, there is no ban on animal slaughter by Muslims during their festivals.

On the one hand this Govt. is appeasing minorities and on the other hand is trying to destroy Santhana Dharma.

It is the sacred duty of every Hindu to oppose this law tooth and nail and protect our Dharma from the onslaught of these Rakshasas.

Raj Shettre, I think you might have forgotten the human sacrifice happened in Mangalore region two years back. There is no such law existing in the current Indian Penal Code to convict such criminals. Though we may not like the way Congi Government presented the draft law but we have to condemn and stop the human sacrifice happening some time

Human sacrifice is not a ritual ,its Vamachara, it is not proper belief general public is not allowed and involved in it, if some people have done it they have to be punished it should be considered as murder rather than sacrifice, but this anty superstition bill is not at all dealing with such things its just a hidden agenda of communist sickulars who want to wipe hindus faith on his cultural heritage idols, temples, spirits, gurus, and scientific heritage like vasthu, astrology.

    sachu...
What you said is absolutely right.
How you prove people like Idi Amin and Koreans and some people from the African country.

Black Magic is actually practiced in Middle East countries. Africans wholly depend upon superstitions.
Voodoo and Witchcraft still active in European countries.

If 0.005% sacrificing humans for their self gain.. you cannot blame entirely on one's community. As long as the earth exists..it will be there..unless and until they won't matured.

For that they should be given education and afterwards job..which government never thinks. By introducing any law can it be stopped..?? When government is after digging treasure in Unnao for wealth..what about the common man..Jai Ho..
