Bangalore: BJP accuses Pramod Muthalik of collecting money in the name of Modi rally

Bangalore, Nov 10: The BJP has accused Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik of illegally collecting money from public in the name of Narendra Modi rally to be held in Bangalore on November 17.

Pramod Muthalik's 'Abhimani Brigade' has printed pictures and name of BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi in its stickers and has been collecting money from the public, alleged Hubli-Dharwad district unit president Lingaraj Patil while speaking to reporters in Hubli.

"Pramod Muthalik's brigade has been going around Hubli, Dharwad, Belgaum and other places, pasting stickers in houses and shops and collecting money in the name of Modi rally. I urge the people not to pay them any money," he said.

Reacting to the allegation, Muthalik rubbished the claims and challenged Lingaraj Patil to produce documents to prove that he collected money. "Baseless and false accusations are being levelled against me without any reason," he said.

"It is true that my supporters are creating publicity for Modi rally by pasting stickers, but they are not collecting money in any way," he clarified.

"I intend to organize a Hindu Samajotsava and for this reason I had personally met leaders of political parties and collected money, for which I gave them receipts," he added.

"The nation needs Narendra Modi. In the same way, my supporters have been creating awareness on why the state needs me," he said.
