Dubai: Kirem parishioners form KMS, Rajesh Quadras first president

Dubai: Kirem parishioners form KMS, Rajesh Quadras first president

Media Release by Edmond Noronha

Dubai, Nov 12: The long awaited and cherished dream of forming an association of undivided Kirem under one roof was realized when a dozen Kirem enthusiasts joined together recently at Pingara Restaurant in Karama-Dubai,  and received an overwhelming response from Kirem and its associate parishes.

The association was formally baptised as “Kirem Mithr Samudaay' (Kirem Community Friends).

It was a welcome move, with a ‘Change Society’ concept, strong pragmatic objectives and practical approach to face the society and meet the challenges; and well endorsed by all the Kirem Mithr fraternity.

Founding members

Core committee

Rajesh, Arvind and Sudhir

Rajesh Quadras was unanimously nominated as the president.

Rajesh Quadras, hailing from Damaskatte, made a humble beginning through his active participation in the Kirem parish and during his college days in Pompei College, Aikala excelling in academic and extra-curricular activities with his dynamic organizational skills. With a degree in business management studies, Rajesh is currently working in Fenno Scandia Middle East as accounts manager and resding in the Discovery Gardens, Jebel Ali.

Arvind Fernandes and Sudhir Santhosh Miranda were unanimously nominated as the joint secretaries.

With its humble beginning with Kirem Mithr Samudaay (KMS), the forum whole heartedly invites and welcomes all the undivided Kirem and associate parishioners to strengthen the noble cause and reach out to the needs of the less privileged fraternity, particularly living in the United Arab Emirates.

Too many groups and a new one mushrooming each day. Do we really need so many? Even where the entire Mangalorean community is concerned we have different groups who were together once and have now split because of internal politics.I find all this absurd really. Also every other day we have a priest from from one parish or the other visitng the UAE or other GCC countries asking for donations for his project and each one of them claiming his project to be more important than the others. Even though our diocese is so rich and generates so much income,we have people approaching us for money for building a new church or a school or a hospital.I feel it is better to have one association or organization which will have funds collected from local donors and this association will decide to which cause back home these funds are to be allocated.

I fully agree with you. We should have only one association of the people working in gulf (like KCO Iin Abu Dhabi) as splinter groups will create more problems like competition, jealousy, etc.
