Doha: MCC to celebrate Mangalorean Day on Nov 22

Doha, Nov 14: Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar in its endeavor to bring all Mangaloreans come together as a family to meet and greet, to have fun and give them a platform to showcase their various talents in different fields has created another opportunity for its Mangalorean community.

MCC will celebrate 'Mangalorean Day' an evening of games, food, loads of entertainment for all, on November 22 from 3 pm onwards, at the Al Jazeera Academy, Abu Hamour, Doha.

The evening will begin with some exciting fun games and sports for all ages, followed by a cultural program by the local talents with children and adults dancing and singing to your hearts' content.

Talented actors Della Rego, Alwyn Goveas, Bonaventure D’Souza, Aloysius D’Souza, Carol D’Almeida, Anil Cutinha and Sandeep Noronha will be staging the super hit drama of yester years 'Sorgar Boraili Sairik' written by Claud D'Souza Mangalore and directed by Alfred Cyril Crasta.
 
Dony Lobo along with Lona Pinto and team will entertain with some old Konkani Mando numbers, while Effey/Lavina/Prabha and team will entertain by dancing to Konkani Baila numbers.
 
MCC will also be felicitating and bidding farewell to Walter Serrao, general manager of Manweir who is leaving Doha after a long stay and service in Qatar. Serrao has contributed to the growth of Mangaloreans in his company and always promoted events with his patronage.

While one's eyes, ears, hearts and minds are being entertained by drama, music and dance, a grand variety of home cooked Mangalorean delicacies will be available to satisfy one’s literal hunger and crave for home made food especially to bachelor brethren and families.
 
The entire proceeds of the evening will be used in service of the needy.

    It is a good initiative, to get together and have fun.
    If the aim is to help the needy, we need to think differently.
    The necessity is to increase the players and reduce the audiences.
    Healthy people need to be activated, as they are not looking for alms.
    It is an encouraging step for talents and innovative ideas to have solutions.
