Kundapur, Nov 15: Two persons, one of them of Kundapur origin now settled in Goa, who drowned at a beach in Goa, have remained untraced even after ten days of the incident.

Hajira and Sayyed Ummar from Kundapur, now settled in Goa, have two sons Ashraf and Naeem employed abroad. They have a business in Goa. The parents, who are staying in Vasco, had gone to Goa’s Rambhag beach a few days back.

Ashraf’s younger son Shahan (8) and Naeem’s son Syed Tabesh (17) were playing in the water.  Meanwhile a massive wave pulled the children deeper into the sea.  Ashraf and Naeem who heard their screams jumped into the sea to save them.  Ashraf’s another son Ayaan (13) too also jumped after them.  Meanwhile, the wave continued to pull the children very far into the sea.

The people at the seashore began shouting for help.  Hearing their screams, few youths from a family of Shimoga rushed to the children's rescue. Though one Mujibur Rehman succeeded in holding Ayaan's hand, a spiral wave pushed them down in the water.  Ashraf, who was in the water suffered a heart attack looking at his elder son drowning in the sea. His body was washed ashore by the waves.

While the people ashore were wailing and screaming, Shahan and Tabesh who were pulled into the sea in the beginning were suddenly brought up from within and thrown to the seashore by another wave. Though it brought the family some relief, Shahan’s father Ashraf, brother Ayaan and Mujibur Rehman of Shimoga, drowned in the sea.

Though Ashraf’s body came floating, the other two bodies have continued to remain untraced.  Mujibur Rehman's wedding was scheduled for this month, but fate had some other plans.

The search for the bodies has continued.  Though fishermen said that the bodies were seen the next day, their search had yielded no success.

A few days ago, four unknown bodies were said to have been found on Canacona sea shore, and a body of a boy was found without head.  The identities are yet to be confirmed.
