Mangalore, April 8: The Dakshina Kannada unit of Bajrang Dal on Saturday urged the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) to close the authorised slaughter house at Kudroli, in the heart of the city, following the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board's (KSPCB) notice to it (MCC) for not conforming to pollution control measures.

The MCC had given written assurance to the KSPCB that the slaughter house would be upgraded before March 31, this year Vinay Shetty, convenor of Bajrang Dal told reporters here on Saturday.

Since the MCC had not adhered to the pollution control measures so far, the authorised slaughter house should be closed until it takes measure, he said.

In case MCC does not heed to the demands of Bajarang Dal, the outfit to resort to agitation, he added.
