Bangalore ATM attack case: Police detain suspect in Tiptur

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (EP)

Bangalore, Nov 22: In a possible breakthrough in the ATM attack case, Tiptur police on Friday November 22 reportedly detained a person who closely resembles the man who carried out the attack.

Satish (33) was picked by the police at Tiptur in Tumkur district, sources said.

Jyoti Uday

The barbaric attack on Corporation Bank manager Jyoti Uday had taken place inside an unguarded ATM kiosk on Tuesday November 19.

Satish is being questioned and will be handed over to Bangalore police for further investigation, said police sources in Tiptur.

The Nokia handset snatched from Jyoti was sold by the attacker to a person at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, and was located with the help of mobile phone trackers. Police have taken into custody the person who bought it and are questioning him as well, sources said.

Jyoti Uday who was brutally attacked with a machete early morning inside the ATM kiosk suffered grievous injuries on her head and was operated upon. Though she is recovering, she is said to have suffered paralysis on the right side of her body.

Following the incident, the state government made it mandatory for banks to post security guards at all ATM kiosks, with two cameras outside and inside, and a burglary alarm inside the kiosk.

    Anna Tark Purus,
Before you continue further, onthe unthule. Hold on. Kindly accept a malla namaskara for the range you explored in your short message – from Hitler to Bangalore ATM victim.
Lets discuss Hitler some other time. But the subject is the Bangalore ATM attack issue. You have blamed the Govt. and you’v included English barking readers too!
If you study the poll results in the last few years the urban voting rate has improved from 35-40% to upto 65%. The educated ( englis barking in ur language) people are aware of their duties and make a point to vote. They too want to experiment to see a change. For example we made Mr. Bhat sit back at home and sent Mr. Lobo to the assembly. Ofcourse it was an experiment that had gone seriously bad!
If you want to have a good govt. you should vote for a party with some ethics and morality. You gotta be little flexible as you will never find an ideal party. You can find some Khader’s rarely in parties like Congress, but at present you can be sure of BJP upholding the moral values. Though not to 100%, it’s light years ahead of other parties.
Through the voting campaign you started you can spread this most logical thinking to keep Congress away from power. Under the weak UPA govt., even countries like Nigeria are dictating terms on us. Under Congi, in Karnataka, a lady is being attacked in day time inside an ATM.
We all fully support your vision. Please let us submit humbly a motto for your campaign-“ Congress Free India, that’s where is the XANADU”

Hi Buddy, thanks for the support. I am from IT industry and recently we have started the voting campaign in our company. One of our mission to spread awareness and logical thinking to whomever we know. I recommend you to do the same. Regarding the brutality which you are talking abt that's present worldwide. This is nothing, think about the more than 50 Lakhs jews which are killed brutally by Hitler. In USA also happens lots of crime but there the main crimes happens from unexpected people due to mental stress and breakdown, and can't be controlled via police. The only diff here is even though the same gangs are active for years they are not brought to justice cause they have political connections with winning party leaders. e.g see the adobe CEO's son was kidnapped and Mulayam brought him in one day, that very well indicate that all these kidnapping rings are someway connected to these powerful cheap people.

For all the other members in this forum I would request stop becoming an emotional fool, act either as an emotional intelligent or rational person. all things have a logical reason in this earth and need logical solutions to that.
The reason for the incident could be.
    1. that person might have a personal problem with the lady.
    2. That person might have a strong hatred for any rich person.
    3. person has become psycho due to various socioeconomic reasons..
there might be infinite reasons. but what's the solution????

solution is good govt. which should be first of all to protect people not to loot them. Unfortunately our govt is only to make money. they don't have ethics, generosity, honesty and will to have good things.

so no matter whatever rules and suggestions u give it's gonna continue like that..

if govt has issues than do you think we don't have issues?

we do have issues!! and the issue is we always point someone else for our mistakes, Instead of acting ourselves we always ask other people to do the work.
    to be continued..

When this counter is open 24 hours it is expected that security should also be in place 24 hours. Definitely a serious lapse.

guys why do you bark on these issues and waste your time. why do you give lectures and why do you cry. if you are a man go -> vote on the basis of work/security/development. this is all because of english barking dogs having no minds of their own. most of the educated Indians (rather educated fool) don't do anything for the society they just cry and don't vote. Enough is on what one should start thinking what you can do for the society. Everyone here showing his small intelligence will not benefit anyone including you. One day you will also be a target if you don't act today. "A civilization gets the Govt what it deserves for" Aristotel.

You are right, majority of voters constitutes the poor, uneducated labor class who can easily be bought with a few pegs of liquor and few crisps!! The rich, educated seldom go to vote and later just keep blaming the elected leaders!!

Fail to understand why people have become so ruthless against fellow humans that they go to the extent of brutally assaulting innocent victims just for robbery!!!

Its amazing that such security lapses come to light only when an incident of this sort happens. Its one thing cracking the case after it has happened but shouldn't something have been done to avoid such a misfortune for the poor lady in the first place? I think incidents where the entire ATM machines were stolen were not enough of a wake up call

In each and every case police will not act fast and they want to wait for the complaint to be lodged. In Bengaluru if one criminal has to cross the border of our state it will take a minimum of one and a half hour. The responsibility of the police is over when they send wireless messages. Till victim is serious and until media intervenes or until I P S officers guide them police will not act. The phone was taken away at 7.11 am and it was traced only in the night. Why was there so much delay? The police would have done suspecting family members and in the last they would have obtained her mobile no. Nakhabandi would have instilled fear in the criminal but that they will do after a lapse of 4 or6 hours. Policing is 1947 our judiciary is1770 and our criminals are2020 techno savy. My question is how many I P S officers in Bengaluru have seen majestic bustand kalasipalyam and other busy areas? Let them come out of their chambers and do the work in grassroots to know the reality. let them follow the footsteps of their senior officer who was once upon a time D C P sri D R Karthikeyan

Human resource should be utilized by the govt for productive nation building process and building their own future.
Laws should be so strict that there should no more be incidents f this type-this is a national shame.
