Bangalore, Nov 27: The eagerly awaited semi-finals of the Emerging Entrepreneur Business Plan Contest, being held as part of the Entreprenet 2014, will be held at Christ University, Bangalore on December 7.

The Emerging Business Plan Contest is a first of its kind initiative aimed at tapping and promoting entrepreneur talent of young entrepreneurs.

As many as 9 semi-finalists will be vying for top honours to qualify for the final being held in Bangalore in January 2014.

The business plan voted as the most viable will be adjudged as the best at the Entreprenet convention in January 2014, through a combination of Jury and Audience polling.


Total Cash Prize of Rs 1 Crore

The winner will also get a cheque of Rs 1 Lakh and a trophy. The winner is also eligible to get the benefit of mentoring and an opportunity to receive an investment upto Rs 1 crore.

At the semi-finals in Bangalore, these 9 business plans will now be reviewed by a jury comprising eminent industrialists bankers, investment analysts and academics on December 7.

The 9 semifinalists were chosen across 3 centers – Mangalore, Bangalore and Mumbai - in the preliminary rounds amidst fierce competition now battle each other for a coveted place in the finals.

The 9 plans selected are aimed at revolutionizing a particular industrial, community or environment need.


Prelim Rounds in Mangalore, Bangalore, Mumbai

The Mangalore Preliminary round at AIMIT, Mangalore was completed on August 1 and 2, 2013

The Bangalore Preliminary round was conducted at Christ University on September 23 and 24, 2013

The Mumbai Preliminary round was conducte at Morello Hall on November 8, 2013

All participants were awarded certificates of participation and 9 winners walked away with Plaques in recognition of their winning entries.
 
Entreprenet is the biennial global convention of KE Global, a non-profit corporation.

The KE Global in associations with its affiliate Dimensions, Mumbai, Kanara Entrepreneurs in association with Christ University, Bangalore, is conducting the Contest.


Email Invites of 5000 Colleges

Email invitations to 5000 colleges across India were sent out.

Over 200 entries valid entries from colleges across India were scrutinized by the review committee 60 short listed plans were given an opportunity at 3 hostcentres for presentation to the jury.

Each participating team presented their business plan in the preliminary rounds held in the respective centres of Bangalore, Mangalore and Mumabi based on an idea that was technically and commercially viable and unique.

    Unique innovative ideas cannot provide and present business plans
    An idea can make a revolutionary change with a world of difference

    It is really great, if an idea is found better than one which can save more than 60% of fuel, help to have surplus balance instead of Current Account Deficit with adequate FEX reserve, eliminate health hazardous air pollution and peace disturbing sound pollution from vehicles, drastically reduce the manufacturing cost of vehicles and their running and maintenance costs, increase and multiply the capacities of vehicles to several times, with amazing solutions.
    The opportunity is to stop subsidies on oil, start development projects and create enormous job opportunities and hence to reduce poverty.
    India can be a developed nation as per our ambitious dream, much earlier than expected.

    Very good initiative by KEL. I am sure many young entrepreneurs will benefit out of this .KEL should make this as an annual event and also have VC fund managed by KEL and like minded investors to participate. Even if we fund 50 in a year i think it will go along way in encouraging youngsters
