Mangalore, Apr 15: The first out of the five rounds of the Gulfl Dirt Track National Championship for two-wheelers was flagged off by Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police B Dayananda on the Yenepoya grounds in Jeppinamogaru on Saturday morning.



The championship has been sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd and organized by Sportscraft, in association with Mangalore Motor Sports Association.

The championship has been accredited as part of FMSCI championship. The rest of the rounds are to be held in Coimbatore, Nagpur and Jaipur.



 

Classified as individual races with no team entries eligible, the event has attracted over 125 racers from various places in the country. There was a category for scooters also, with a sub-event for ladies as well.
