Kundapur, Nov 29: In a tragic incident, a teenage girl allegedly ended her life at her residence here on Friday November 29.

The deceased has been identified as Shubha (15), daughter of Shiva and Baby, residents of Moodu Giliyar, Nethaji Nagar, Kota. Her father is a fisherman in Kerala, while mother is a daily wager.

It is said that on the night of Thursday November 28, Shubha had asked her mother to give her Rs 200, but the mother told her that she did not have the money and she would give once her father came home from Kerala on Friday evening. This had angered Shubha, sources said.

On Friday morning, Shubha got ready for school and so did her younger brother. Her mother too left for work as usual. However, as she was not feeling well, the mother came back home at around 10.30 am and found Shubha's door locked from inside. She called her neighbours, and with their help the door was broken. To their utter shock, Shubha was found hanging.

Shubha was studying in the 9th standard at Vivek Girls High School, Kota, in the English medium. It is said that she was good at academics as well as sports.

Apart from her parents, Shubha is survived by younger brother Karthik who is in 5th standard.

Kota circle inspector Arun Naik visited the spot. Vivek school principal and staff also visited.

Kota police have registered the case.

Totally agreed with pradeep, this matter must be seriously considered. All education institutions must be served notice. A precious life is not that easy to be forgotten. Even I have faced this situation and it is so embarrassing when rich parents don't bother to give money to their children and school while the middle class and poor face difficulty. And the kids of these rich will treat so cheaply the one who has no money. Rich or poor join together and help the children. PLEASE STOP SUCH BUSINESS IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES. PLEASE....!!!!!

Now a days most of the schools ask the students to bring money for activities. This needs to be stopped. Once the school fees are paid schools should not be allowed to collect money from students. My son recently asked Rs500 for costume charges as he is participating in the school day dance. What about a daily wager? It would cost him / her two day's of their salary. That too, if they have daily work. Kids do not understand the problems of their parents. They want to follow the others who had paid the money or face insult. This is a serious issue and the authorities need to wake up before more innocent budding lives are lost.

During our school days it is very difficult to get money from our parents and we knew their situation with great difficulty they were sending us to school. Now the time has changed children r not ready to go to school without pocket money daily, a motorbike. Scooter. And I saw some children are drawing money from ATM also. Give ur children whatever they need and at the same time teach them discipline and later no use in crying. And I saw some children if they don't get what they demand they threaten their parents.

Very tragic.Nowadays parents have to be alert even by small things.I am sure there was something behind this 200rupees.In Schools ragging,is not uncommon.may be some classmates wanted Money from her,and suppose she doesnt bring they must have threatened her.so she Chose this way. They must inquire in School.or she felt as an outsider when other Girls throw around Money.Heartfelt sympathy to the parents.

    Her parents dream shattered...!!!
"Bachcha log, krodh ko paalna shiko"
If you feel the odd temptation, suddenly go out of the house and see the beauty of the nature, ie., Plants/flowers/grass etc., touch it. your temptation will vanish in seconds. God gave us life to live...!!!

It's not a matter of $ 4.00 but issue with school friends When children are with peers or with other children who are able to spend or affordable to own few things other less fortunate parents can't match kids' demands.

Children at this stage build inferiority complex or feel that they are low even affects children' behavior, eating habits and friends circle as well.

I think it is better to investigate deep into what made to commit suicide If she asked for money .. There must have been a need is connected to lots of issues.

May her soul rest in peace. Lord God forgive her soul for whatever she has done to end her life, and hurt her parents and her only brother.

So sad, so sad to read this news. Fisherman father and daily wager mother, yet they loved her so much and paid private English medium school fee for her better future. For this silly reason at this small age of 15 this drastic decision to end her life is an extreme step.
