Mangalore, Dec 1: Acting on a complaint, the officials of the Mangalore City Corporation on Saturday November 30 carried out a surprise raid on a soda shop at Divya Enclave, Jail Road here.

The MCC had received a complaint from the public that the soda shop near Jail road had been using non-permitted ingredients and harmful chemicals in the flavoured carbonated soda drinks. As children and school students drink them, it was likely to affect their health. The letter from the public had urged the officials to test the chemicals used by the shop.

On receiving the complaint, MCC commissioner Ajith Hegde directed the environment and health inspectors to carry out the raid and  inspect the shop. The officials who raided the shops collected a few samples of the ingredients used, which will be sent for lab test and further action will be taken based on the results.

Environment inspectors Madhu, Manjunath and Manu Kumar, health Inspectors, Karunakar, Babu, Sushanth, Yashwanth and others were present.

If I am not mistaken the old Milagres store used to be adjacent to Taj Mahal restaurant/coffee house.
I did my schooling in Milagres high school during Fr. Aranha’s time ( then Head master)

Nambison shop used to deal in milk products I believe.

    A.P. Mangalore.

I think the Cold Bar used to be situated at the entrance of Main gate at right hand side ? I too remember my Dad used to go there (1960' to 70's) but not during church services (after the mass)

    Everything has commercialized today
Money power, human power, over power, super power and no power

The adulterated foods, smoke, drug and alcoholic addictions, unhealthy pollutions and unwanted competition and comparisons miserably disturb the public peace.
These ill factors spoil the health of the entire society, by affecting and destroying enormous families.
