    KSRTC are good operators.. Speed under control..they have to do the reporting job at all cities. i have travelled many times from Pune to Mangalore. they are really good.. someone talked of Fireproof Jackets.. its only required on Private operators buses. there are so many accidents on the highways involving Private owned cars... so you will ask for ban on Private cars plying on the highways?? please accept and praise good works sometimes... Volvo are the Best buses not only in india but also other major international cities...

    Actually it is 1.40 AM (night).
    1.40 PM (noon) mentioned in the press release of KSRTC is just a printing mistake. The total journey period from Hyderabad to Mangalore itself is 17.30 Hours.

    The KSRTC volve buses travel empty during weekdays. KSRTC is losing huge amount of money because of these buses. It is not viable. It should be only on weekends and holidays.KSRTC should conduct a study on capacity utilization and remove certain services .I have traveled several times during weekdays and found hardly 4 /5 direct passengers.All agree that the common man can not even think of getting in to Volve because of the fare.They must offer last minute discount to Direct passengers to improve capacity utilization.True to its name,these are white elephants of KSRTC.

    @Mahesh Kotian,MLR.

    If our country will have international standard roads, then we need not require Volvo buses at all, besides, people will be able to enjoy very comfortable rides at low cost even with outdated old buses too.

    Transport ministers both from BJP and Congress get kick backs for the purchase of these White elephants named Airawata and expensive spares to maintain them knowingly that they are bound to make heavy losses to KSRTC.

    The Other Volvo which goes via Hassan-Bangalore reaches Hyderabad within 16 hours. This Bus takes 18 hours, but still it is good for the people of Udupi-Bhatkal-Hubli who frequently go to Hyderabad. After IT Boom in Hyderabad lots of people from D.K & U.K are based in Hyderabad.

    Volvo buses operated by NATIONAL travels and JABBAR travels have proven to be nightmares so far, not state-owned buses and other reliable private operators! Please take note :)
