Doha, Dec 7: Superhit Tulu movie 'Telikeda Bolli' produced by Sharmila Kapikad and Sudhir Kamath, received rousing response from Tulu movie lovers around Qatar as all three theatres went houseful on Friday December 6.

The movie is also the debut for Arjun Kapikad, son of legendary Tulu actor and director Devdas Kapikad.

The first-ever Tulu film came to Qatar thanks to the efforts put in by Karnoor Mohan Rai, who had brought Cha Parka team to Gulf countries 15 years ago.

The first ever premier show was held in Doha at The Mall Cineplex three theaters, at 5 pm. Prominent personalities including Karnoor Mohan Rai, who bought the rights of the movies for Mumbai and Gulf were present during the show. Philanthropist Ravi Shetty and Felix Lobo, Deepak Shetty, Divakar Poojary, Ramachandra Shetty, Prakash Ajila, Prakash Rao, Asmath Ali, were also present.

Mohan Rai said that the six shows (two in Dubai, one each in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Muscat) received overwhelming response and were total sell-outs even before the release. "This is the first time that a Tulu movie has been presented through satellite system, unlike in the past where the movie reel was brought," he said.

The movie was based on Kapikad's hit drama 'Gantethand' featuring Kapikad himself along with Naveen Padil, Bojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Arjun Kapikad, Ashritha Shetty and others. Jam-packed crowed enjoyed the movie which with its rib tickling comedy was a total entertainment package to the ones present.
