Kundapur: Chartered accountant ends life on day of wedding

Kundapur, Dec 13: A chartered accountant who ran his own firm in Bangalore allegedly committed suicide on the morning of his wedding at Kedoor, Tekkatte here on Thursday December 12.

The deceased has been identified as Satish Shetty (30), son of Nagaiah and Girijamma Shetty, residents of Hadimane, Kedoor.

Satish was a chartered accontant by profession and ran his own CA firm by the name SS Association in Bangalore.

It is said that he had been in love with a Bangalore-based girl for the past five years. On Wednesday December 11, while coming to his hometown to attend a relative's programme, he promised the girl that he would marry her on Thursday at Dharmasthala. He had also said that he would convince his family and bring them along.

However, as per Satish's family, he never told them about his affair with the girl or his plans of marriage.

The girl's family came to Dharmasthala on Thursday but Satish was nowhere to be seen. They then called Satish's brother Santosh and it was only then that Satish's family came to know about his marriage.

When they went to talk to Satish in the room where he slept, they realized he was missing. The neighbourhood was searched and his friends looked for him in Dharmasthala too, but to no avail.

His wallet, ATM card, identity card and footwear were in the house, which aroused the suspicion of the family members. They then searched for him again and found his body in the well near the house.

Kota police have registered a case in this regard.

    DEAR ALL, IT'S MAY BE MURDER BY HIS PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS, IT'S SIMPLE, GUESS ! OTHERWISE HOW CAN AN EDUCATED PERSON JUST JUMP INTO WELL ON THE DAY OF HIS WEDDING. THE FAMILY SHOULD BE QUESTIONED BY POLICE AND I AM SURE POLICE IS DOING SAME ALL THE COMMENTATORS THINKNG SUICIDE, IT CANNOT BE THAT DEAR..... BY SHAIKH I. ... MANGALORE

    What secrecy he had led him to do that. love kept in secret,marriage plan secret without knowing parents about marriage he asked girl to come for marriage and want make surprise or to give shock to parents?
    If love fails he was not calling her for wed, something fishy or reason here.
    Why he has to come home and kill himself he can do that where he lived,and if he sucide may he kept note at least for his lover.
    Some time parents want to rule keep under them in control but he was not staying with them also
    So what reason God knows Is he scared for parents? Or Is parents pressure? but said he not spoke about,
    what is the use of gain education,degree, names,wealth but no peace,lost life,leaving parents in pain and agony.
    We can see these years, doctors, techies, educated sucide because no peace. if no peace no life. All can gain worldly things name,fame wealth property, prosperity but no one can buy peace, that only God can give.

    Very unfortunate,

    if love fails not easy to digest, but some parents not allowing their children to speak anything about their feelings. they want their children to obey them tip to toe. yes i agree no parents will think bad about his children but feelings, attraction and love not in our control so at least if they value it nothing such things will happen. Children should fulfill their parents' needs but when their personal matter comes they should be very bold and if they are taking any wrong step they should advise their children in a proper way.

    A man in love since four years did not tell at home and home People dont know about it.suspicious.and all of a sudden how he can convince home People and bring them to marriage .Marriage cant be arranged in a day or two .Most probably parents denied his choice so he could not face the Girl and Chose this way.he ended not only his life but dreams of a Girl,parents .

    Generally girls commit suicide due to dowry issues, but here he was for a love marriage and family members might have thought that they won't get any dowry in this marriage and might have opposed it.
