Kuwait, Dec 14: To mark the season of Christmas, Christ the King Konkani Prayer Group, like every year, celebrated its annual Christmas Tree programme on Thursday December 12 at the Holy Family Cathedral hall to a houseful audience of about 500 people, without any entry fee.
The programme began at 7 pm by comperes Jasmine D'Cunha and Anil Pinto. Savita Tauro led the celebration with an opening prayer which was followed by a prayer dance. The core group leader Cyril Lobo then welcomed all the chief guests.
The clergy from the vicariate Fr Antony Lopez, Fr Dominic Santamaria, Fr Noel D'Almeida, visiting priest Fr Roshan along with the CKKPG spiritual director Deacon Sylvester D'Souza cut the celebratory cake and gave their Christmas message to all present.
The programme was filled with entertaining acts like jokes, dance, carol singing, spot prizes and more. The highlight of the event was the musical drama "The transformation of Zacchaeus" which was beautifully composed and directed by Jason, Jasmin D'Cunha, Rony D'Cunha and Joe D'Souza. Ida D'Silva then gave the vote of thanks.
The much-awaited guest, Santa Claus was then welcomed by all the children amidst excitement and happiness. They were all rewarded with goody bags.
The annual tradition of the Christmas hamper draw was conducted and lots of prizes were distributed. Sumptuous and yummy dinner was provided to all by M&M Confectionery.
