Mangalore: Former mayor Haji Abdul Khader no more

Mangalore, Dec 15: Senior Congressman and former mayor of Mangalore City Corporation, Haji Abdul Khader passed away on Saturday December 14 night due to heart attack.

He leaves behind his wife, four daughter and three sons, and several well-wishers and friends.

Hailing from Kandak here, Khader was mayor during 1984 - 85. He was the second mayor after Mangalore became a city corporation.

He had also served as chairman of MUDA, president of Muslim Education Association, DK Football Association, as chairman of Muslim Central Committee and other social organisations.

His final rites will be performed on Sunday December 15 at Juma Masjid premises.
