Bantwal, Apr 28: The Bantwal town police on Thursday April 27 have seized 180 litres of spurious liquor atKalladka here.

The liquor was seized by town police sub inspector Ravi Hukkeri and his staff while they were on their night patrol.  The police stopped a jeep coming from Mangalore on National Highway 48 at Kalladka.  At this point, the jeep driver abandoned the jeep and fled the place.

The police seized the jeep and found 180 litres of arrack packed in sachets and stored in a 3 sacks.  The total worth of the seized liquor is said to be Rs 1.15 lac.  The police are investigating the case.
