Mangalore, Apr 28: Western Range Inspector General of Police K S Suresh Babu has been promoted. He has been promoted to the post of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).
Hereafter he will be referred as ADGP instead of IGP but will continue rendering his service in the Mangalore office.
He had joined as the police force as the DySP of Puttur in 1976. Thereafter he had rendered his services in Panambur sub division, Mangalore city before becoming the Superintendent of Police in the district in 1971.
Later on he served as SP in Mysore, Bangalore Rural and Bellary before taking over as the IGP of Southern Range and subsequently as the director of Police Academy.
He had taken over as Western Range IGP on July 5, 2005 from Satyanarayana Rao.
